Jasmine Toguchi is a little girl of Japanese descent. She is proud of where her family is from. In Super Sleuth, her family is celebrating Girls Day. It is a day all about how cool girls are. In the story, Jasmine’s friend is going to celebrate with her. They play dress up with the plan to look for Girls Day clothes in their neighbor’s garage. Her friend doesn’t want to go and why is a mystery? Is the neighbor a spy?

This is one of a new book series. I just discovered it and have others on order. It is a fun, fun series. Jasmine is a great girl for today’s kids. She is proud of her culture and through her, we learn about Japanese culture. I have asked my mom if we can celebrate Girls Day this year.

The book would be a great quick read for an advanced reader and a steady read for a newer reader. It has good pacing (this is important to me now as a few recent books have been slow).

The book would be a good addition at a school. My city has an international school so I will recommend they get it too.

I can’t wait for my next Jasmine adventures!
