Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast

By Josh Funk

Illustrated by Brendan Kearney

This is a weird book. The food characters are fighting over syrup which is used to eat them. They should not want the syrup. Besides the weird story it is funny. The illustrations are very cool. It is neat to see how they turned food into people . Though why is some food alive like people and others are more objects, like a bread boat or broccoli tree. Even if I have questions, I can enjoy this book.

I liked the illustrations because they were detailed and colorful and funny. I like Lady Pancake when she is covered in salsa. It is funny to think of food coming alive in my refrigerator. I wonder if a future book will have gone bad leftovers in it.

I recommend this book to younger kids and people who just want to laugh. Even as a food allergy kid I think this is funny. I can’t wait to find the next one at the library
