Grump

By Liesl Shurtliff

This was the book in my June OwlCrate Jr.

This book is a retelling of Snow White told by the dwarf Grump, from his birth to when Snow White and him part. This book is very interesting because you’re hearing a fairytale from one of the secondary characters in that story in their perspective.

I like this book because it is told by Grump ( my favorite dwarf ). I also like that instead of all boys as the dwarves two of them are girls. Another thing I like about this book is that the reason the dwarves are mining isn’t because they’re just doing it for fun but trying to get to the dwarf colony because their tunnels collapsed because of an incident including a princess misusing an axe and hit the ceiling.

I recommend this book to kids who like to mix fairytales with other fairytales and kids that like hearing stories from different perspectives of different people included, involved in or just at the place where it happened as it happened witnessing it.

I give this book 15 dwarf stars!πŸ’«βοΈπŸŒŸβœ¨πŸ’«βοΈπŸŒŸβœ¨πŸ’«βοΈπŸŒŸβœ¨πŸ’«βοΈπŸŒŸβœ¨πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

Psst! Just so you know the closest thing I could get to a dwarf isthe smiley

  1. How did I miss this fun book?! I just put a new book order in today (I work at a library) and I definitely would have added this to my list. Oh, well, next month. Thanks for the tip!
