At the end of the school, Bridget asked her followers for book recommendations for me. Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales was recommended A LOT! I looked them up and got excited.

This series is all about historical events and places, like the Ironclad from the Civil War. You start in the Revolutionary War if you start at the beginning. You don’t have to read them in order!

These are graphic novels. A couple characters are in all books. They are the narrator and the ones learning about the historical events.

It is funny because the events are in the future of the common characters. They are time travelers by being eaten by a big book.

My favorite is TREATIES, TRENCHES, MUD AND BLOOD and is about World War I. In this telling, each country is represented by an animal. This helps kids keep the different countries straight in the pictures. Like Italy is cats! The US is bunnies! England are dogs!

The books are funny even though the topics are serious. This was a good way to learn about this historical events and periods. It kept my attention and I wanted to know more. I could even have discussions with my great-grandfather about World War II because of what I read. That was cool.
